HEARING OF COMPLAINTS

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Oneonta, County of Otsego has completed the tentative assessment roll for the current year. From May 1 to May 31st the assessment roll may be seen at the Town Clerk's Office during the regular business hours. The Assessor(s) will be in attendance with the tentative roll on:

  • May 11 from 9 am to 4 pm At: Oneonta Town Hall, 3966 State Hwy 23 West Oneonta, NY 13861
  • May 12 from 9 am to 4 pm At: Oneonta Town Hall, 3966 State Hwy 23 West Oneonta, NY 13861
  • May 16 from 9am to 1 pm At: Oneonta Town Hall, 3966 State Hwy 23 West Oneonta, NY 13861
  • May 18 from 12 pm to 8 pm At: Oneonta Town Hall, 3966 State Hwy 23 West Oneonta, NY 13861

The Board of Assessment Review will meet at Oneonta Town Hall, 3966 State Hwy 23, West Oneonta, NY 13861 on June 2, 2026, from 4 pm to 8 pm to hear and examine all complaints in relation to assessments on the application of any person believing himself to be aggrieved. Dated this 13th day of April 2026

Grievance Day is typically the Tuesday after the 4th Tuesday in May.  Grievance applications may be mailed to the Assessor's office or brought to the Grievance meeting for submission.

STAR Information

NYS STAR Information

Initial Star Application: This form is to be used for a homeowners first application for Basic STAR and/or for the initial application for an Enhanced STAR (when you turn 65)

Enhanced Star Renewal form: This form is used in conjunction with the required income tax forms to renew an Enhanced STAR.  Typically this renewal form is mailed from the Assessor's office to all current Enhanced STAR participants in January.

Optional Income Verification Form: This form is for Enhanced STAR participants who prefer to have NYS Tax and Finance inform the Assessor of your income eligibility for an Enhanced STAR renewal.  You will be informed in January if NYS has determined if you are still eligible.
